The Movement for the Promotion of Gender Equality in Liberia (MOPGEL) was formed in Liberia 2000. Its establishment is rooted in an idea that cultural and traditional practices denied young girls, women and those with disabilities access to education and vocational training. We believe this situation curtails these groups ability to improve livelihoods, literacy and to make a better quality of life for themselves and their families. Thus, we are involved with academic school project, vocational training (sewing, cooking skills, computer, etc) for women, youth, children, disabled as well as men.
